Sloe Gin Update
Well I went away and re-read the book about the sloe gin. It turns out I did do the correct quantities, it is 1oz. of sugar in 250ml of gin.
E.g. For a 1 kilo jar, half fill with sloes (pricked), adding 4oz. (125g) of sugar then filling to the top with gin.
