Sloe Jelly
I have since tried to make the Sloe Jelly. In short, it hasn't worked. I do, however, have a rather nice batch of sloe syrup! I thought I had completed the recipe correctly but when the mixture didn't set I realised it must have over or under boiled. Before the next batch of jam/jelly I will invest in a thermometer to monitor my jam making.
The sloe syrup does taste good, especially on ice cream and pancakes. I believe it is also full of vitamins and is a good winter staple to ward off colds and flu.
So a failure can sometimes be a surprising success!
